How to Remove Old Recital Dates from Piano Studio Flyers

Keep the studio photo and brand art, clear burned-in recital times and student lists, then letter this term for the lobby and Instagram.

The lobby still sells last May's Saturday slot

Front desk still gets asked about a 3 p.m. spring recital that moved to 4 because the A4 flyer and the Instagram tile show last term's date. Rebuilding in Canva from a layered file is ideal. Reality is a flattened JPEG in the shared drive while tickets open tonight. Parents screenshot the flyer. They do not open the studio app first. The job is to keep the piano photo and brand art, erase burned-in recital dates, program times, and retired student name lists, and export a blank master you can letter again for the lobby, Stories, and Google. This pass is text removal — not a swim-school lesson grid rewrite, and not a background swap of the whole recital hall.

Brush the program; leave the keys

Upload the existing flyer. Brush only the typed block — date, call time, "SOLD OUT," a student who left the studio — and let reconstruction fill the wood grain or brand color behind the type. Do not brush the logo lockup or the hero piano you intend to keep. If a soft sponsor badge is logo-shaped rather than lettering, leave it or send that one mark to watermark removal; this article stays on recital text. Zoom to 100% on the former times. You want the piano lid grain to match, not a blurred rectangle where May 12 used to sit. Watch for stacked type: a late "MOVED TO" stamp over an older date often leaves a double ghost if you only paint the top line.

Print versus social crops

Lobby prints often target 300 dpi on A4. Export the cleaned master at up to 6000 px on the long edge and 10MB (JPG/PNG/WebP/AVIF). A 1200 px web JPEG cannot become a sharp lobby print. Social needs square and 4:5; export at least 2000 px on the long edge so type you add later stays sharp. A 2400 px JPEG under 4MB typically returns in under 60 seconds. Google Business tiles are smaller: downscale from the same master so the lobby and the map pin do not show two different recital nights.

Lettering the blank master

Once the program is gone, put this term's date and call time in your layout tool, not back in the photo editor. Match the studio type style and margins so the logo still sits on brand. Export A4 PDF for print, 1080×1350 for Instagram, and 1080×1080 for the story cover. Only edit artwork the studio owns. Clearing an outdated recital date is normal ops. Lifting another school's branded flyer is not. Keep a dated folder of blank masters without type so every term change is lettering only. Do not invent a concert hall the studio does not rent.

Rights and student names

Only list students whose families cleared marketing, or keep the flyer to date, time, and studio name. Clearing a retired name list is presentation. Publishing a minor's full name without consent is a different problem — keep names in the layout tool where you can redact next week without another reconstruction. Bakery menu boards and chiropractic price stamps are different type jobs; keep this pass on recital copy.

When tickets open and the lobby still shows last May's Saturday, clear the program, export the master, and hang a flyer that matches the night parents can actually book.
