Landscaper Portfolio Photos: Isolate the Lawn, Leave the Truck Out of the Shot
Cut trailers, hose piles, and neighbor clutter off a phone still for Instagram and Google. Keep the beds honest — this is site cleanup, not a new yard.

The Google tile still shows the trailer
Homeowners on Instagram, Nextdoor, and Google decide in a swipe whether your edging looks careful. A stack of mulch bags, a hose across the bed, or your trailer in the driveway loses that swipe. A drone and golden hour are ideal; most crews shoot between loads with a phone. The job is to isolate the lawn and beds you finished — not to invent a pool the property does not have, not to erase a tree you did not plant, and not to tour every cleanup tool. Hotel seasonal window swaps are a different atmosphere job; this page is a landscaper portfolio still.
Cut the clutter; keep the grade honest
Upload the sharpest wide still. Run background removal when a truck, trailer, or tool pile steals the edge of the bed. Inspect mulch lines, stone edges, and fence posts at 100%. Swap only the distracting strip (driveway junk, neighbor trash cans) to a calm grass or sky field that matches the rest of the yard — not a CGI courtyard. If a handwritten job date or "BEFORE" stamp sits on the frame, that is a text pass after isolation. Do not clone a second maple. Do not flatten a grade you will not leave.
Square grid versus Google cover
Instagram favors square and 4:5. Google Business covers are wider. Export both from the same still. Uploads here accept JPG, PNG, WebP, or AVIF up to 10MB and 6000×6000 px. A 2400 px JPEG under 4MB typically returns in under 60 seconds. Export at least 1080 px on the short edge so zoom holds on mobile. Skip motion-blurred walk-throughs. Skip 400 px WhatsApp forwards from a helper.
Before/after and rights
Only post yards you maintain or that homeowners cleared for marketing. Pair before and after with the same angle when you claim a transformation. Isolation of a hose pile is presentation. Inventing a retaining wall is a review and a complaint. Name files `front-bed-clean.jpg` versus `front-bed-as-shot.jpg` so a dispute has an original. Keep the release in the same dated folder as the live JPEG.
Batch the season, not the whole archive
Same side light, same field habit, exports named by address or job type (mow, install, cleanup). Five stills after Friday loads, not fifty. A second auto pass will not invent sharp blade edges on wet grass. Relight and reshoot when the bed is in deep shade.
When the inquiry inbox is open and the hero still shows last week's trailer across the lawn, isolate the work you finished, keep the plant list honest, and publish a square that matches the yard the homeowner will walk.
